[HLA-identical sibling allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for chronic myelogenous leukemia in first chronic phase. Analysis of 51 cases].
To evaluate the treatment outcome of HLA-identical sibling allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) for chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) patients in first chronic phase (CP(1)). ⋯ Allo-HSCT can cure a significant proportion of patients with CML-CP(1). There was no significant difference in DFS between the two different conditioning regimens and between the different transplant choices. Donor lymphocyte infusion is a therapeutic alternative for CML patients relapsed after transplantation.

[Clinical features and prognostic factors in primary myelofibrosis patients under 45 years old].
To investigate the clinical and hematological features and identify the prognostic factors associated with short-term survival in primary myelofibrosis (PMF) patients under 45 years old. ⋯ Hb < 100 g/L and constitutional symptoms in PMF patients under 45 years old were significantly associated with short survival and poor prognosis. These two prognostic factors enabled to separate patients into a high and a low risk groups. The survival of high-risk patients was less than three years.

[Study on genetic diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis of alpha-thalassemia].
To develop a single-tube multiplex polymerase chain reaction (mPCR) technique to detect three common deletional alpha-thalassemias (alpha-Thal) in Chinese, and to perform genetic diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis for an alpha-Thal family from Hebei province, China. ⋯ The developed mPCR technique can be used for genetic diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis of the 3 deletional alpha-Thal in Chinese.

[The effect of down regulating of p27 on the activity of hematopoietic progenitor cells derived from umbilical cord blood and bone marrow ex vivo].
To compare p27 interfering effect on the proliferation and hematopoietic potential of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC) derived from human bone marrow (BM) and umbilical cord blood (UCB), and investigate the related mechanism. ⋯ p27 gene interfering could promote HPC proliferation, hematopoietic potential and the response to stimulations of UCB HPC is higher than that of BM HPC ex vivo. It seems that cell cycle controlled by p27 was related to CDK2.

Comparative Study[Comparison of autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for 140 patients with de novo acute leukemia in first complete remission].
To evaluate the outcome of patients with de novo acute leukemia (AL, no AML-M(3)) in CR(1) undergone autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT) or HLA-identical sibling allogeneic HSCT (allo-HSCT). ⋯ The long-term LFS of auto-HSCT was comparable to that of allo-HSCT in the management of patients with AL in CR(1), because autograft purging and post-transplant treatment can significantly decrease relapse of auto-HSCT patients and auto-HSCT has lower therapy-related toxicities.
