Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The United States Food and Drug Administration has not approved any drug or vaccine for the treatment of COVID-19; however, reports have emerged from different parts of the world about the potential therapeutic benefits of existing drugs. Chloroquine and phosphate hydroxychloroquine are the drugs currently in the limelight, and recently, the National Task Force for COVID-19 constituted by the Indian Council of Medical Research has recommended the use of antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine for prophylaxis of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 infection in selected high-risk individuals. Case ReportsAn Uncommon Case of Atraumatic Palsy of a Branch of the Anterior Interosseous Nerve with a Late Spontaneous Recovery.
Atraumatic palsy of the anterior interosseous nerve (AIN) is rarely encountered, presenting an uncertain etiology which provokes a weakness of the flexor pollicis longus (FPL), flexor digitorum profundus (FDP), and pronator quadratus, while a lesion of one of the AIN branches is even rarer. In many cases, the diagnosis is based in motor deviations due to nerve's palsy. ⋯ Moreover, a patient may have the opportunity to decide whether to be submitted in an interventional procedure or not. The purpose of this paper is to report a case of an AIN's branch palsy and to suggest a possible delay of the surgical exploration, since a late self-recovery may occur.

Rate of Forced Expiratory Volume in One Second and Forced Expiratory Volume in One Second/Forced Vital Capacity Decline among Indonesian Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease after a Year of Treatment.
The rate of decline in lung function in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients showed more profound decline than normal individuals. However, a 1-year lung function among Indonesian patients with COPD has not been elucidated. ⋯ Most patients had statistically significant rate of decline in FEV1 and FEV1/FVC within 1-year of COPD treatment. This study recognized an unfavorable prognosis in terms of irreversible deteriorating lung function of COPD patients despite therapeutic management.

Comparison of injuries due to lethal weapons during and after civil strife in Sri Lanka: A medico-legal study.
"Injuries due to lethal weapons" has emerged as a subject of public discussion in Sri Lanka. This study was conducted to describe the nature and characteristics of injuries due to lethal weapons during civil strife and to compare those with injuries after civil strife. ⋯ The presence of many similarities indicated that both groups learnt their basis in a society that breeds violence. During civil strife, more injuries occurred during daytime, to lower limbs by explosive weapons and after the civil strife during nighttime, to upper limbs by nonexplosive weapons. Nonexplosive lethal weapon use after civil strife needs further investigation to develop evidence-based interventions.
