[The proposed position statement on the preliminary screening of hepatitis B and hepatitis C of tentative intra-couple medically assisted reproduction. The BLEFCO Federation].
Within the context of routine screening before intra-couple Medically Assisted Procreation attempt, French Bioethical law of July 1994 makes provision for health security rules by announcing a State Council statutory order, not published at the moment. The infectious transmissibility risk in matter of MAP is much debated, especially for hepatitis virus and assisted fertilization. The attitude proposed take account of well-known transmission modes, potential risks, biological technics for screening at our disposal, ethical considerations and legal context, for this activity within the limits of therapeutic.

Review[Complete hysterectomy for benign pathology and laparoscopy: respective indications of laparoscopic preparation and an exclusively laparoscopic approach].
According to whether uterine artery treatment takes place vaginally or laparoscopically, laparoscopy for hysterectomy can be considered according to two modalities: laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) and total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH). The indications for laparoscopy are defined by the limits and/or contraindications of the vaginal route. ⋯ Laparoscopy thus allows to reduce the number of laparotomies. When on overage three quarters of the hysterectomies (excluding cases of uterogenital prolapse) were up till now performed abdominally, laparoscopy could reduce this rate to approximately 10%.

Review[Total hysterectomy for benign pathologies: why is laparoscopy of value?].
The majority of the hysterectomies are performed by laparotomy. With laparoscopic surgery it will be possible to perform only 10 to 20 per cent of the hysterectomies by the abdominal route. Even if laparoscopic hysterectomy is a feasible technique, all the hysterectomies should not be performed by the endoscopic route. ⋯ Laparoscopic surgery is not indicated for hysterectomy if the operation is feasible quickly and under good conditions via the vaginal route. Laparoscopic surgery is only indicated when vaginal surgery is difficult and/or contra-indicated. In these situations, laparoscopic surgery can be performed according two different modalities: laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy and total hysterectomy completely performed by laparoscopy.

Society and our modern world are changing, and so does our language and its words, those carriers of our different trains of thought. Heavy or lightweight, last but not least, simple or pompous, easygoing or sophisticated, words can fail and cheat us, we can play with them or simply use them, they live their own life but we cannot live without them. ⋯ Maybe the real change in our brave new world of high-tech communication would be to restore its true value to the patient-doctor relationship in a verbal and non-verbal exchange. Of course this goes without saying, but so much better when said!

[Risk of hepatitis virus B and C transmission during medically assisted reproduction].
The transmissibility of viral hepatitis by medical technics is a topical question in public health care. So, it becomes important to assess transmission risk in medically assisted procreation (MAP), to define the management of couples according to their viral status. ⋯ In that work, B and C virus epidemiology and transmissibility will be rapported, with the recent notions about detection and knowledge of C virus. According to that transmission risk a logical attitude in MAP will be defined.
