[Initial experience on endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration in the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer].
It has been proven that endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) was a new minimally invasive method in the diagnosis for mediastinal lymph nodes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic and staging yield of EBUS-TBNA for lung cancer. ⋯ EBUS-TBNA proved to be a safe procedure with a high yield for the diagnosis of lung cancer.

Review[The role of TBNA in diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases].
In the last 30 years, clinical application oftransbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) has proved its efficiency, accuracy, safety and cost-effectiveness, particularly in diagnosing and staging lung cancer as well as in diagnosing benign diseases. The application of endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) increased the accuracy of TBNA. ⋯ Combination of EUBS-TBNA and traditional methods (CT, PET, mediastinoscopy, et al) can improve the diagnostic rate and negative predictive value. In the future, EUBS-TBNA may have applications in both benign and malignant lung diseases as a routine examination.

[Role of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration in the diagnosis of bronchogenic carcinoma].
The aim of this study is to evaluate diagnostic yield and the safety of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) in the diagnosis ofbronchogenic carcinoma. ⋯ EBUSTBNA seemed a safe and effective technique in making bronchogenic carcinoma diagnosis for mediastinal/hilar LNs and intra-pulmonary masses.

[Diagnostic value of transbronchial needle aspiration and endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration for hilar and mediastinal lymph nodes in lung cancer patients].
Transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) and endobronchial ultrasound-guided TBNA (EBUS-TBNA) have been applied to the diagnosis for mediastinal lymph nodes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical value and safety of TBNA and EBUS-TBNA on hilar and mediastinal lymph nodes of lung cancer patients. ⋯ TBNA and EBUS-TBNA were proved to be safe procedure with a high yield for the diagnosis ofhilar and mediastinal lymph nodes in lung cancer patients.
