[Density and SUV ratios from PET/CT in the detection of mediastinal lymph node metastasis in non-small cell lung cancer].
Mediastinal involvement in lung cancer is a highly significant prognostic factor for survival, and accurate staging of the mediastinum will correctly identify patients who will benefit the most from surgery. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) has become the standard imaging modality for the staging of patients with lung cancer. The aim of this study is to investigate 18-fluoro-2-deoxy-glucose (18F-FDG) PET/CT imaging in the detection of mediastinal disease in lung cancer. ⋯ Node/aorta density ratio and SUV ratio may be complimentary to conventional visual interpretation and SUVmax measurement. The use of lymph node's short axis, lymph node's SUVmax, and both ratios in combination is better than either conventional PET/CT analysis or PET/CT comprehensive analysis in the assessment of mediastinal disease in NSCLC patients. .

[Effects of thoracic paravertebral block on postoperative analgesia and serum level of tumor marker in lung cancer patients undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery].
Perioperative management of pain associated with the prognosis of cancer patients. Optimization of perio-perative analgesia method, then reduce perioperative stress response, reduce opioiddosage, to reduce or even avoid systemic adverse reactions and elevated levels of tumor markers. Serum levels of tumor markers in patients with lung cancer are closely related to tumor growth. Clinical research reports on regional anesthesia effect on tumor markers for lung cancer are still very little in domesticliterature. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of thoracic paraverte-bral block on postoperative analgesia and serum level of tumor marker in lung cancer patients undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. ⋯ Patients in group G feel more painful and a higher dosage of dezocine is required to relieve the pain than group GP. Thoracic paravertebralblock has no influence on serum level of tumor marker in lung cancer patients undergoing video-assisted thoraeoscopic lobectomy.

Review[Status of perioperative airway management in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer].
The close association between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer has long been known. New evidence suggests that there is an inverse relationship between the severity of pulmonary function and the risk of surgery in patients with lung cancer, COPD may play a key role in the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications (PPC) and improving pulmonary function with perioperation airway management has been suggested as a possible preventive PPC. This review describes the current understanding and clinical application of perioperation airway management in lung cancer patients with COPD. We summarized that: (1) The necessity of perioperation airway management; (2) The status and characteristic of inhaled drug in perioperation airway management; (3) The clinical value in improving pulmonary function of perioperation airway management; (4) The optimum population of peri-operation airway management; (5) The problem of perioperation airway management.

[Analysis of the factors associated with abnormal coagulation and prognosis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer].
The activation of coagulation and fibrinolysis is frequently encountered among cancer patients. Such tumors are associated with high risk of invasion, metastases, and negative final outcomes. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for approximately 80% to 85% of all lung malignancies. This study aims to investigate the prognostic value of blood coagulation tests for NSCLC and provide a reference to patients on the prevention and treatment of thrombophilia. ⋯ Patients who have lung adenocarcinoma and/or lymph node metastasis at advanced stages of NSCLC are prone to thrombophilia. Prolonged PT and INR was associated with poor prognosis, and elevated INR was independently associated with a decreased survival rate. PT and INR are promising prognostic markers of NSCLC.

[Association of genetic polymorphisms in IL-6 and IL-1β gene with risk of lung cancer in female non-smokers].
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β), known as multifunctional cytokines with high biological activity, play an important role in physiological and pathological responses such as inflammation, immune response and even tumors. There have been multiple polymorphism loci found in IL-6 gene and IL-1β gene. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between IL-6-643 (C/G) and IL-1β-31 (C/T) polymorphisms and lung cancer risk among female non-smokers and explore the interaction effects on lung cancer risk between this two polymorphisms and potential risk factors such as cooking oil fumes exposure and history of tuberculosis. ⋯ Our results indicated that IL-6-634 polymorphism was associated with the risk of lung cancer risk in female non-smokers. Individuals with both IL-6-634 CG or GG genotype and exposure to cooking oil fumes had a higher risk of lung cancer. Also individuals with both IL-6-634 CG or GG genotype and history of tuberculosis had an elevated risk of lung cancer.
