Some dementia patients can self-report pain although the reports are not valid in severe dementia. Observational scales have been developed for pain assessment in these patients. This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the Persian version of Pain Assessment Checklist for Seniors with Limited Ability to Communicate-II (PACSLAC-II). ⋯ PACSLAC-II Persian version is a valid and reliable scale for pain assessment in older adults with dementia.

To investigate whether the World Health Organization Safety Surgical Checklist (SSC) is an effective tool to reduce complications in spinal surgery. ⋯ The SSC seems to be an effective tool to reduce complications in spinal surgery. We propose to extend the use of checklist system also to the preoperative and postoperative phases in order to further reduce the incidence of complications. To improve the quality and consistency of intervention development reporting in health research. ⋯ Consensus-based reporting guidance for intervention development in health research is now available for publishers and researchers to use. GUIDED has the potential to lead to greater transparency, and enhance quality and improve learning about intervention development research and practice.
