Atherosclerosis is the pathological basis of many cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and its pathogenesis is complex. Recent studies revealed a significant role of gut microbiota in the onset and development of atherosclerosis. Traditional Chinese medicine has rich clinical experience and unique advantages in the treatment of atherosclerosis. A large number of studies have proved that traditional Chinese medicine has the functions of reducing blood lipid, regulating gut microbiota, and resisting inflammation. Polymorphisms in the cytochrome P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) gene have been reported to be associated with coronary heart disease (CHD), but the results were not consistently analyzed among different patient groups. To derive a more precise estimation of these associations, we will conduct a meta-analysis to investigate the polymorphisms of CYP2C19 in all published studies. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/R7U93.

Efficacy and safety of warm needle acupuncture in knee osteoarthritis: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a chronic disease, which is also recognized as a common disease affecting the elderly. However, the application of Western medicine is limited in clinical because of its obvious adverse reactions. Warm needle acupuncture (WNA) has a long history in the treatment of KOA and is widely used in Chinese. The efficacy of 5-element therapy for senile diabetes with depression: A protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Senile diabetes with depression is a common and frequently-occurring disease, and it is also a difficult and hot point in domestic and international research. However, the efficiency of combination hypoglycemic agents and antidepressants in the treatment of senile diabetes with depression is poor, and new intervention methods are urgently needed. Research shows the 5-element therapy, as a Chinese traditional non-drug intervention, has definite curative effect on the prevention and treatment of various physical and mental diseases. The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to evaluate the efficacy of 5-element therapy on senile diabetes with depression. ⋯ INPLASY2020100081.
