Coronavirus diseases 2019 (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic. To add to the scarce information on this disease, here, we investigated the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 93 hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Jilin, China from January 22 to March 15, 2020. We retrospectively investigated the demographic information, recent exposure history, clinical symptoms or signs, comorbidity, chest computed tomographic (CT) scan or X-ray results, laboratory test results, diagnostic classification, treatment, length of hospitalization, complications, and outcomes. ⋯ The average incubation time is prolonged in the present analysis, as compared to that in other reports. A few patients symptoms improved but CT exacerbated. Therefore, we suggest that close follow-up observation is still required after discharge.

Because of the controversy in clinical nutritional support therapy of hydrolyzed protein formula milk and standard preterm infant formula (SPIF) in premature infants. In this study, the effectiveness and safety of preventive use of hydrolyzed protein formula milk in reducing gastrointestinal diseases and promoting physical development of premature infants are scientifically evaluated by systematic evaluation. To help find the suitable nutritional support for premature infants. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/UQD92.

This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of cerebrovascular stent implantation in southwest Chinese patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and underlying risk factors for stent restenosis. We made a retrospectively analysis of occurring risk, cerebrovascular lesion, stent implantation, complication treatment, and prognosis of 54 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease in our department. A total of 85 stents were implanted into 54 patients, involving 44 of the internal carotid artery system, 34 of the vertebral-basal artery system and 7 of the subclavian artery system. ⋯ Cerebrovascular stent implantation and balloon inflation surgery can assist in abating angiostenosis and improving blood supplement effectively in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Besides, an overall evaluation, strict care, and regular check-up in perioperative period may reduce the occurrence of complications. Finally, several clinical parameters may need to be highly focused on in surgery for better prognosis.

Effects of progressive muscle relaxation training on negative emotions and sleep quality in COVID-19 patients: A clinical observational study.
This study investigates the effect of progressive muscle relaxation training on negative mood and sleep quality in Coronavirus Pneumonia (COVID-19) patients. COVID-19 is an emerging infectious disease, and there is still uncertainty about when the outbreak will be contained and the effectiveness of treatments. Considering that this disease is highly contagious, patients need to be treated in isolation. ⋯ After the intervention, the difference in scores of PSQI, GAD-7, and PHQ-9 in the 2 groups were statistically significant (P < .05). Progressive muscle relaxation training can significantly reduce anxiety and depression and improve sleep quality in COVID-19 patients during isolation treatment. Progressive muscle relaxation training was shown to improve the treatment effect of patients and is worthy of clinical promotion.

Whole exome sequencing for diagnosis of hereditary thrombocytopenia.
Hereditary thrombocytopenia comprises extremely diverse diseases that are difficult to diagnose by phenotypes alone. Definite diagnoses are helpful for patient (Pt) management. To evaluate the role of whole exome sequencing (WES) in these Pts. ⋯ Pt 5 had sitosterolemia showing platelets with reduced ristocetin responses and a dilated membrane system on EM with compound heterozygous ABCG5 mutations. Pts 6 and 7 had MYH9 disorders with heterozygous mutations in MYH9. This study substantiates the benefits of WES in identifying underlying mutations of macrothrombocytopenia, expands mutational spectra of four genes, and provides detailed clinical features for further phenotype-genotype correlations.
