This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of PD-L1 in Chinese patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). In this retrospective study, 97 patients with NSCLC were consecutively recruited. The expression profiling of PD-1, PD-L1, p53 and Ki-67 was detected by immunohistochemistry. ⋯ PD-L1 expression status was not significantly associated with disease-free (DFS) or overall survival (OS). However, for patients with advanced disease, PD-L1 positive expression was related to worse outcome (HR: 4.13; 95% CI: 1.06-16.12). Positive PD-L1 expression is associated with more aggressive pathological features and poorer prognosis in advanced stage NSCLC.

Rehabilitation therapy for patients with glioma: A PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis.
Glioma is the most common type of brain tumor because of the destructiveness of the disease itself and the side effects of treatment, patients often leave symptoms of neurological defects. At present, rehabilitation treatment is not popular in glioma patients. There is a lack of definite evidence to prove the benefits of rehabilitation therapy for glioma patients. The purpose of this meta-analysis is to determine whether rehabilitation therapy can significantly improve the prognosis of neurological function and improve the quality of life of patients with glioma. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42020188740.

Mutations in the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene can result in a reduced ability to utilize folic acid. The MTHFR 677C>T polymorphism in particular has been linked to both birth defects and pregnancy-associated diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of the MTHFR 677C>T mutation among pregnant women in Yunnan Province so as to collect baseline data that may be utilized to guide folic acid supplementation efforts and to support related disease prevention programs. ⋯ The MTHFR 677C>T polymorphism was found to be present within the studied population, with ∼60% of these patients being either heterozygous or homozygous for the mutant allele and with an overall T allele frequency of 0.37. The frequency of the T allele was significantly higher among pregnant women with complications relative to women with healthy pregnancies, particularly among women <30 years old. As such, the maternal MTHFR 677C>T polymorphism may be a genetic risk factor associated with pregnancy complications and may help identify pregnant women at a high risk of such complications.

Diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of people's living standards and changes in dietary structure, the incidence of diabetes is gradually increasing. Studies have shown that ascorbic acid supplementation can reduce blood glucose, increase insulin synthesis and secretion, improve insulin resistance, and reduce the occurrence and development of complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, relevant studies have common problems such as the lack of large sample studies and low quality of included studies. Therefore, it is needed that we meta-analyze the clinical trials with high quality to elucidate the efficacy and safety of ascorbic acid supplementation in patients with T2DM. ⋯ CRD 42019146826.

Hemorrhoidal disease is one of the most common and frequently occurring benign anorectal disorders, presented with bleeding and prolapsed, and surgery is the main and effective method for severe prolapsed hemorrhoids. Yet, the recurrence rate after procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids (PPH) is significantly higher. To reduce the recurrence rate and protect the anus function, we try to carry out a randomized, controlled, prospective study to compare the efficacy and recurrence rate of tissue selecting technique (TST) with mega-window stapler (TST-MS) combined with anal canal epithelial preservation operation and PPH combined with external hemorrhoidectomy and inferior internal hemorrhoid ligation operation for the treatment of severe prolapsed hemorrhoids. ⋯ The findings of the study will help to explore the efficacy and recurrence rate of TST-MS combined with anal canal epithelial preservation operation on the treatment of severe prolapsed hemorrhoids.
