Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease/nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is one of the primary causes of chronic liver disease worldwide. Obeticholic acid (OCA), a potent farnesoid X nuclear receptor activator, has shown promise for treating NASH-related fibrosis due to its anti-fibrotic effects. This study aimed to examine the efficacy of OCA for patients with NASH as well as to investigate its impact on dyslipidemia. ⋯ OCA also reduced several liver test markers compared to placebo, including the biochemical indicators alanine transaminase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, and γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, and improved hepatocellular ballooning, fibrosis, steatosis, and lobular inflammation. Although the incidence of adverse events did not significantly differ between OCA and placebo groups among NASH patients, OCA treatment was found to elevate total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein levels, and the reported severity of pruritus increased with higher doses of OCA.

Misdiagnosis of eosinophilic cystitis: A case report and literature review.
Eosinophilic cystitis (EC) is a rare and specific transmural inflammatory disease in clinic. At present, its etiology is unknown, its clinical manifestations are diverse, and its auxiliary examination lacks specificity, so it is easy to be missed or misdiagnosed in clinical practice. ⋯ The clinical manifestations of EC are atypical, the laboratory examination and imaging examination are not specific, and it is difficult to make a definite diagnosis before operation. The diagnosis depends on pathological examination. Transurethral resection of the lesion can obviously improve the positive rate of biopsy while completely removing the lesion, and the combined drug treatment can achieve satisfactory results in a short period of time. Active follow-up after operation is very important to identify the recurrence of the disease and prevent the upper urinary tract function from being damaged.

G-protein signaling regulator 16 (RGS16) has been confirmed that RGS16 is associated with cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, many studies have shown that RGS16 can be used as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. We used CiteSpace and VOS viewer software to perform a bibliometric analysis of 290 publications in the core collection of Web of Science. ⋯ The biological applications of RGS16 are currently a hot area of RGS16 research, including inflammation, cancer, ulcerative colitis, metabolic acidosis, platelet activation, and thrombosis. The current scientometrics study provides an overview of RGS16 research from 1995 to 2022. This study provides an overview of current and potential future research hotspots in the field of RGS16 and can be used as a resource for interested researchers.

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is one of the most common and severe forms of cardiovascular disease and has attracted worldwide attention with increased morbidity and mortality in recent years. There are few review studies in the field of its care in the form of bibliometric studies. ⋯ Our objectives are to explore the hot topics and frontiers of research in the field of ACS nursing and to identify collaborative relationships between countries, institutions, and authors. This study will provide researchers with intuitive reference data for future in-depth studies of ACSs.

To examine the factors that contribute to patient delays among individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and offer insights to help develop specific risk management strategies. Conducted as a cross-sectional study between September 2021 and April 2022, this study used a convenient sampling technique to select 245 individuals diagnosed with CKD from a Grade 3 Class A hospital located in Shanxi Province. These individuals were chosen as the subjects of the study. ⋯ These factors included the level of knowledge about CKD, educational level, frequency of attending physical examinations, severity of initial symptoms, social support, self-efficacy, positive coping, and negative coping. Numerous factors contribute to the Patient Delay. To effectively enhance awareness and coping abilities regarding CKD in high-risk groups, it is essential to implement focused and continuous interventions throughout the medical seeking process.
