Review Case Reports[Primary testicular NK/T cell lymphoma. Case report and review of literature].
Natural killer/T cell lymphomas chiefly involving the midline facial structures including the nasal cavity or nasopharyns are a relatively rare type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Apart from the upper respiratory tract, the disease occasionally presents in certain extranodal sites, such as the central nervous system, skin, gastrointestinal tract, or testes. We report a case of natural killer NK/T cell lymphoma as a testicular tumor in a 36-year-old man with a history of progressive swelling of his right testicle. ⋯ There were no abnormal findings in the nasal and nasopharyngeal regions. Classified as stage IEA, the patient received involved-field irradiation to contralateral testis (45 Gy), followed by systemic chemotherapy with a combination regimen ofL-asparaginase, methotrexate and dexamethasone. Relevant literature is reviewed, and the clinicopathologic features, natural history, and treatment options for primary testicular NK/T cell lymphoma are discussed.

In spring and summer 2022, an outbreak of mpox occurred worldwide, largely confined to men who have sex with men (MSM). There was concern that mpox could break swiftly into congregate settings and populations with high levels of regular frequent physical contact, like university campus communities. ⋯ National Institutes of Health National Institute on Drug Abuse and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) is an autoimmune disease that is the most common cause of glomerulonephritis. In IgAN, the glomeruli are impaired by deposits of IgA-complexes in the kidney, which leads to the progression of chronic kidney disease, often resulting in end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis or kidney transplantation. ⋯ Supportive therapy is the mainstay of treatment, but there have also been recent advances with targeted therapies that may provide additional therapeutic options to meet treatment goals. Managed care professionals are well positioned to design clinical programs and pathways to promote earlier diagnosis, better efficacy and safety monitoring, and timely access to targeted therapies to slow progression, reduce kidney damage, and delay or prevent end-stage renal disease.

Major clinical advances over the last 20 years in the area of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) have been confirmed in large seminal clinical trials. These findings add to the previously identified benefits resulting from intensive glucose and blood pressure control therapies. Furthermore, newer glucose lowering treatments such as SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 agonists appear very promising and are likely to transform the management and outlook of DKD over the next decade. In addition, novel mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists and a recently reported trial with an endothelin receptor blocker also have the potential to change clinical practice.
