To examine the prospective associations between spinal pain exposures and risk factors for cardiovascular disease in children and explore the mediating role of health-related physical activity. ⋯ These findings suggest a potentially important link between spinal pain and cardiovascular risk in girls that may be independent of health-related physical activity. Paravertebral ozone injection is a new treatment method described in the literature for low back pain. The aim of this study was to compare the pre- and post-treatment pain scores of patients undergoing paravertebral ozone/oxygen (O3 /O2 ) injections for low back pain. ⋯ Paravertebral O3 /O2 gas is a reliable and effective treatment for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation, radicular pain, and mechanical back pain due to low back pain.

Back pains are the most frequent musculoskeletal disorders among dentists, exposed to many work-related risk factors. We aimed to assess the prevalence and intensity of back pains as well as the impact of some work behaviors among a large sample of dentists. ⋯ Prevalence and intensity of back pain are important among dentists and increase greatly over working life. Preventive methods such as ergonomics exist and awareness should be raised among dentists and dental student. These slides can be retrieved under Electronic Supplementary Material.

Effect of a legislative mandate on opioid prescribing for back pain in the emergency department.
A change in Arizona State law in 2017 required prescribers to review data from a prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) prior to opioid prescribing. The objective was to determine the effect of this change on opioid prescribing for patients who presented to the emergency department (ED) for back pain. ⋯ A legislative requirement for provider PDMP review did not change opioid prescribing for patients in the ED who presented with back pain.
