We aimed to assess the level of patient's satisfaction and associated factors regarding postoperative pain management. ⋯ The level of patient satisfaction with postoperative pain management was considerably low. Hence, it is vital to implement time-interval pain assessment method during the first 24 hours of postoperative period and treat accordingly based on the WHO pain ladder. Moreover, we suggested that all patients who underwent major surgery should receive peripheral nerve block as part of multimodal analgesia to decrease the incidence and severity of post op pain.

Predictive Factors for Access-Site Pain Chronicity after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention via Radial Artery Access.
The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence and predictive factors for developing chronic access-site (A-S) pain after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) via radial artery access. ⋯ The prevalence of chronic A-S pain is 3.7%. Main predictive factors for the A-S pain chronicity are diabetes, hematoma, and persistent pain and pain intensity during 48 h period after PCI.

Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is considered an effective pain-relieving treatment for patients with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). Despite the clinical effectiveness, it is unknown whether the altered functional connectivity in such patients, as compared to healthy persons, can be influenced by SCS. Therefore, the goal of this study is to evaluate whether brain connectivity assessed by EEG differs between baseline and SCS in patients with FBSS. ⋯ The differences in power spectrum and connectivity between the three conditions lead to the hypothesis that HD SCS differs from CON SCS on average power spectrum, suggesting that HD SCS may have a higher contribution on the excitatory bottom-up pathway.

An increased sensitivity to painful stimuli has been proposed to be related to the development of chronic pain. Therefore, assessment of individual pain sensitivity is useful in clinical practice. However, experimental pain testing may be uncomfortable for patients and requires specific equipment. ⋯ No statistically significant correlation between PSQ-scores and PPT was found. Concerning the pain scores, PSQ-scores were weakly to moderately correlated to EPT-NRS (PSQ-minor: rho = 0.21, p=0.021; PSQ-moderate: rho = 0.22, p=0.016; PSQ-total: rho = 0.23, p=0.009) as well as PPT-NRS (PSQ-minor: rho = 0.32, p < 0.001; PSQ-moderate: rho = 0.36, p < 0.001; PSQ-total: rho = 0.37, p < 0.001). Therefore, we concluded that the Dutch version of the PSQ is culturally appropriate for assessing self-reported pain sensitivity in healthy volunteers.

Considering the high prevalence of abdominal pain in children and adolescents in Iran, it is essential to use appropriate screening tools. One of the most comprehensive, yet concise, tools for this purpose is the Abdominal Pain Index (API). This study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the self-report API in adolescents. ⋯ Also, the researchers' hypothesis, i.e., API is a single-factor model (with five items), was approved. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was satisfactory for the total scale (α < 0.7). This study showed that API could be used with considerable confidence for Iranian children and adolescents with chronic pain.
