Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease with demyelination, inflammation, neuronal loss, and gliosis (scarring). Our object to review MS pathophysiology causes and treatment. A Narrative Review article was conducted by searching on Google scholar, PubMed, Research Gate about relevant keywords we exclude any unique cases and case reports. ⋯ When it comes to bowel problems, one can try to implement stool softeners and consume a high roughage diet. The review takes about MS causes Pathophysiology and examines current treatment strategies, emphasizing the advancements in disease-modifying therapies and symptomatic treatments. This comprehensive analysis enhances the understanding of MS and underscores the ongoing need for research to develop more effective treatments.

Peptidyl (protein) arginine deiminases (PADs) provide the transformation of peptidyl arginine to peptidyl citrulline in the presence of calcium with posttranslational modification. The dysregulated PAD activity plays an important role on too many diseases including also the cancer. In this study, it has been aimed to determine the potential cytotoxic and apoptotic activity of chlorine-amidine (Cl-amidine) which is a PAD inhibitor and whose effectiveness has been shown in vitro and in vivo studies recently on human glioblastoma cell line Uppsala 87 malignant glioma (U-87 MG) forming an in vitro model for the glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) which is the most aggressive and has the highest mortality among the brain tumors. ⋯ The findings of this study have shown that Cl-amidine exhibits significant potential as an anticancer agent in the treatment of GBM. This conclusion is based on its noteworthy antiproliferative and apoptotic effects observed in U-87 MG cells, as well as its reduced cytotoxicity toward healthy cells in comparison to existing treatments. We propose that the antineoplastic properties of Cl-amidine should be further investigated through a broader spectrum of cancer cell types. Moreover, we believe that investigating the synergistic interactions of Cl-amidine with single or combination therapies holds promise for the discovery of novel anticancer agents.

Despite having a higher mortality risk than conventional chemotherapeutics, high-dose chemotherapy (HDCT) has the potential to be curative in relapsed/refractory germ-cell tumors. Therefore, selecting the best patient group for this treatment is critical. This study aimed to determine the factors that affect survival in our relapsed/refractory GCT cohort who received HDCT and autologous stem-cell transplantation. ⋯ The results of the study promise the best response to HDCT as a primary measure for predicting survival in relapsed/refractory GCT. In contrast, primary mediastinal GCT is not a good candidate for HDCT. Furthermore, a carboplatin-etoposide regimen in combination with cyclophosphamide and paclitaxel may improve PFS.

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of dorzagliatin for the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2DM). ⋯ Dorzagliatin exerted favorable effects in hypoglycemic control, effectively reduced the HbA1c, FBG, and 2h postprandial blood glucose levels in T2DM patients, stimulated the secretion of insulin during the initial phase, and exerted a consistent hypoglycemic effect. However, the incidence of adverse events such as elevated blood lipids and cardiovascular risk warrants further investigations through long-term clinical trials.

Efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture for benign prostatic hyperplasia: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture (EA) in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. ⋯ EA is effective in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia with acceptable overall safety.
