Doxorubicin (DOX) is one of the most effective chemotherapeutic agents. However, the nonselective effect leads to serious cardiotoxicity risk in clinical use. Curcumin is a well-known dietary polyphenol that showed a protective effect against the cardiotoxic effect of DOX. ⋯ Molecular docking showed that curcumin could bind with the target proteins with strong molecular force, exhibiting good docking activity. Curcumin has a multi-cardioprotective effect by modulating the core targets' expression in DOX-induced cardiotoxicity. This study elucidated the key target proteins and provided a theoretical basis for further exploring curcumin in the prevention and treatment of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly malignant primary brain tumor with a poor prognosis. Reactive oxygen species that accumulate during tumorigenesis can cause oxidative stress (OS), which plays a crucial role in cancer cell survival. Clinical and transcriptome data of TCGA-GBM dataset from UCSC Xena database were analyzed. ⋯ A total of 55 small molecule drugs obtained from drug gene interaction database (DGIdb) may have potential therapeutic effects in GBM subtype 2 patients. Our study identified 10 hub genes as potential therapeutic targets in GBM subtype 2 patients, who have poorer overall survival and higher immune infiltration levels. These findings could pave the way for new treatments for this aggressive form of brain cancer.

Surgical methods for patients with osteoporotic fracture vertebral collapse complicated with neurological dysfunction are still a topic of debate. We designed an improved osteotomy for the treatment of osteoporotic compression fracture patients with neurological dysfunction. Compared with traditional osteotomy methods such as pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) and bone-disc-bone osteotomy (BDBO), the osteotomy range is reduced. Therefore, we use a finite element method to analyze the biomechanical conditions of these three osteotomy methods and provide a mechanical theoretical basis for the surgical treatment of these three osteotomy methods. ⋯ The relatively simple modified osteotomy has certain advantages in stress and displacement. In contrast, the stability of BDBO group was poor, especially in the lumbar intervertebral disc and lumbar body. For this type of osteotomy patients, it is recommended to avoid postoperative flexion so as not to increase the load.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease/nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is one of the primary causes of chronic liver disease worldwide. Obeticholic acid (OCA), a potent farnesoid X nuclear receptor activator, has shown promise for treating NASH-related fibrosis due to its anti-fibrotic effects. This study aimed to examine the efficacy of OCA for patients with NASH as well as to investigate its impact on dyslipidemia. ⋯ OCA also reduced several liver test markers compared to placebo, including the biochemical indicators alanine transaminase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, and γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, and improved hepatocellular ballooning, fibrosis, steatosis, and lobular inflammation. Although the incidence of adverse events did not significantly differ between OCA and placebo groups among NASH patients, OCA treatment was found to elevate total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein levels, and the reported severity of pruritus increased with higher doses of OCA.

Effect of fire needle combined with traditional Chinese medicine on psoriasis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The mechanism of action of fire acupuncture and Chinese medicine in psoriasis is unclear. In this paper, the efficacy of the 2 therapies was compared through a comprehensive analysis of their recurrence rates for clinical reference. ⋯ Fire needle can improve the efficacy of TCM in the treatment of psoriasis, including the area, severity and itching of skin lesions, and reduce the recurrence rate, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
