Pediatric functional constipation (PFC) is a prevalent and persistent gastrointestinal disorder, that requires various treatments, including alternative approaches. This review assessed the synergistic efficacy of herbal medicine (HM) and probiotics for PFC. ⋯ The combination of HM and probiotics may exhibit a synergistic effect on PFC. Nevertheless, it is imperative to undertake rigorously planned RCTs to comprehensively evaluate the synergistic efficacy of HM and probiotics.

Misdiagnosis of eosinophilic cystitis: A case report and literature review.
Eosinophilic cystitis (EC) is a rare and specific transmural inflammatory disease in clinic. At present, its etiology is unknown, its clinical manifestations are diverse, and its auxiliary examination lacks specificity, so it is easy to be missed or misdiagnosed in clinical practice. ⋯ The clinical manifestations of EC are atypical, the laboratory examination and imaging examination are not specific, and it is difficult to make a definite diagnosis before operation. The diagnosis depends on pathological examination. Transurethral resection of the lesion can obviously improve the positive rate of biopsy while completely removing the lesion, and the combined drug treatment can achieve satisfactory results in a short period of time. Active follow-up after operation is very important to identify the recurrence of the disease and prevent the upper urinary tract function from being damaged.

Fibro-adipose vascular anomaly (FAVA) is a rare and complex vascular malformation associated with persistent pain, limb contracture, and even restriction of activity. However, the pathophysiology of FAVA remains unclear. ⋯ There are several different treatment options for FAVA, including surgical resection, sclerotherapy, cryoablation, drug therapy, and physical therapy. This article reviews the clinical manifestations, pathological features, pathogenesis, and treatment methods of FAVA.

Deep learning techniques explain the enormous potential of medical image analysis, particularly in digital pathology. Concurrently, molecular markers have gained increasing significance over the past decade in the context of glioma patients, providing novel insights into diagnosis and more personalized treatment options. Deep learning combined with imaging and molecular analysis enables more accurate prognostication of patients, more accurate treatment plan proposals, and accurate biomarker (IDH) prediction for gliomas. This systematic study examines the development of deep learning techniques for IDH prediction using histopathology images, spanning the period from 2019 to 2023. ⋯ When predicting the status of IDH, the classifier built on digital pathological images demonstrates exceptional performance. The study's predictive effectiveness is enhanced with the utilization of the appropriate deep learning model. However, external verification is necessary to showcase their resilience and universality. Larger sample sizes and multicenter samples are necessary for more comprehensive research to evaluate performance and confirm clinical advantages.

Since the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic, insomnia has become one of the longer COVID-19 symptoms. This study aimed to investigate insomnia among COVID-19 survivors and explore the occurrence and influencing factors of insomnia. A cross-sectional study was performed from December 2022 to February 2023 through an online questionnaire star survey with 8 questions. ⋯ The prevalence of insomnia symptoms remains high among COVID-19 survivors in China. Education level and occupation may be the influencing factors. Unfortunately, most patients with insomnia do not take corresponding treatment measures.
