Breast cancer survivors under endocrine therapy (ET) suffer from side effects such as hot flashes and sleep disturbance accompanied by poor quality of life. Many quit ET early and reduce their survival rate. Guidelines recommend gabapentin next to yoga or acupuncture. ⋯ High significant reductions in hot flashes and sleep disturbances after 1 and 6 months were found. We conclude that breast cancer survivors need individual treatment with SGB due to her personal impact. Hence, SGB should find its way to guidelines and daily routines as a valuable method for treating side effects in breast cancer survivors undergoing ET.

This study aims to investigate the mechanism of Taohong Siwu Decoction (THSWD) against deep vein thrombosis (DVT) using network pharmacology and molecular docking technology. We used the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology database and reviewed literature to identify the main chemical components of THSWD. To find targets for DVT, we consulted GeneCards, Therapeutic Target Database, and PharmGKB databases. ⋯ The main targets for THSWD treatment of DVT may include AKT1, IL1B, and IL6. Beta-sitosterol, quercetin, and kaempferol may be the active ingredients responsible for producing this effect. These compounds may slow down the progression of DVT by regulating the inflammatory response through the PI3K/Akt pathway.

To explore the application effect of "quality control circle" activity in postoperative nursing of elderly dental implants. ⋯ Quality control circle activities can effectively improve the success rate of dental implants, reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications, improve patient satisfaction, and help medical staff in providing better treatment for patients.

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) after supratentorial craniotomy is a poorly studied complication, for which there are no management guidelines. This study assessed the incidence, associated risk factors, and management of postoperative CVST after awake craniotomy. ⋯ CVST after supratentorial awake craniotomy is a rare event with satisfactory clinical outcomes and spontaneous sinus recanalization under conservative management without treatment-dose anticoagulant therapy. These findings are comforting to neurosurgeons confronted with postoperative MRI reports suggesting CVST.

Apixaban for Stroke Prevention in Subclinical Atrial Fibrillation.
Subclinical atrial fibrillation is short-lasting and asymptomatic and can usually be detected only by long-term continuous monitoring with pacemakers or defibrillators. Subclinical atrial fibrillation is associated with an increased risk of stroke by a factor of 2.5; however, treatment with oral anticoagulation is of uncertain benefit. ⋯ Among patients with subclinical atrial fibrillation, apixaban resulted in a lower risk of stroke or systemic embolism than aspirin but a higher risk of major bleeding. (Funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and others; ARTESIA ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT01938248.).
