Safety and efficacy of dupilumab in adult atopic dermatitis in Singapore.
Dupilumab, a biologic approved for treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD), has been reported to be largely effective with minimal adverse effects. However, being a targeted therapy, its effectiveness and side effects are expected to be varied in a heterogeneous ethnic population. Currently, the majority of studies on dupilumab are based on Western populations. ⋯ Our study confirms the efficacy of dupilumab with real-world data in an adult Asian population. Higher proportions of eye symptoms, and head and neck dermatitis were observed in our cohort compared to other Asian clinical cohort studies. Further studies are needed to evaluate these differences.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a major cause of death and disability worldwide. The benefits of electrical stimulation in the treatment of respiratory dysfunction in patients on mechanical ventilation is unknown. Nevertheless, there is a dearth of evidence-based medical research concerning its clinical efficacy. ⋯ The findings of this research indicate that DESs have a positive impact on enhancing the rate of successful weaning and reducing the incidence of VAP. It decreases the duration of invasive ventilation and total ventilation time while also improving the mortality rate within 30 days. This therapy could offer a fresh alternative for respiratory impairment in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation.

Patients with cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) have a lifetime risk of hemorrhagic stroke. Although identified asymptomatic cases can be monitored with imaging follow-up, treatment is considered in cases of AVM rupture or hemodynamic instability. ⋯ When treating AVMs, especially those with a large nidus of high flow, it is necessary to consider possible hemorrhagic complications and preventive measures.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been used in China for a long time and is gradually gaining more and more recognition worldwide. Gualou Guizhi Decoction (GGD) has long been used as a folk medicine for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, but its bioactive components and therapeutic mechanisms are still unclear. ⋯ The therapeutic effect of GGD for RA is achieved by affecting the core targets such as VEGFA, IL-1β, IL6, CXCL8, CCL2, and JUN, which together interfere with the tumor necrosis factor signaling pathway and RA pathway to treat RA. The above study provides new ideas for further exploration of this classic formula in the future.

To investigate the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic choledocholithotomy with one-stage suture. The clinical data of 68 patients who underwent laparoscopic choledocholithotomy in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 29 patients underwent laparoscopic primary closure (PC group) and 39 underwent T-tube drainage (T-tube group). ⋯ The average operation time, postoperative bowel function recovery time, postoperative pain index, hospitalization time and expenses in PC group were significantly shorter or lower than those in T-tube group (P < .05) and the patient satisfaction in PC group was significantly higher than that in T-tube group (P < .05). In addition, the intraoperative blood loss and the incidence of surgical complications were similar between the 2 groups (P > .05). After laparoscopic common bile duct exploration, primary suture of common bile duct is a safe and effective treatment method, but the incidence of bile leakage is high, and clinical indications for surgery should be strictly controlled.
