Anemia is one of the severe clinical outcomes associated with concomitant infection of malaria and soil-transmitted helminths (STH). Since STH infections mostly share similar geographical areas with malaria, the influence of co-infections on the epidemiology and course of Anemia deserves greater consideration to assess the impact of interventions, the adequacy of strategies implemented, and the progress made in the fight against Anemia. So, this study was done to investigate Anemia among STH-negative malaria patients and malaria patients co-infected with single or multiple STHs, in 3 health facilities of Arba Minch, 2020 to 2021. ⋯ The mean hemoglobin concentration of malaria with multiple STHs co-infection study participants was significantly lower than mono malaria-infected and malaria with single STHs co-infection study participants. The management of malaria should take account of STH infections and optimal modalities of treatment should be devised. Anti-helminthic treatments of malaria patients through regular, inexpensive, single-dose, and highly effective drugs must be seriously considered to protect the population from exacerbation of Anemia by intestinal helminth infections.

Intracranial aneurysm (IA) is defined as a localized dilation of cerebral arteries. With the continuous development of modern medical technology, surgery is still one of the main treatment methods. Although there are various postoperative complications, abnormal coagulation function is rare, especially those caused by lupus antibodies after surgery. The patient not only experienced postoperative abnormalities in coagulation function, but also discovered the presence of lupus anticoagulants in their body. Is the patient suffering from coagulation dysfunction caused by lupus anticoagulants, how is lupus anticoagulant produced, and what's special about treatment. With these questions in mind, we reviewed the entire treatment process of the patient. ⋯ The coagulation function of the patient was abnormal after craniocerebral operation. After coagulation factor supplementation, the coagulation index of the patient was still not well improved. After further examination, the lupus anticoagulant was found. The treatment plan was actively adjusted, and the patient's condition gradually improved. Early recognition can allow doctors to provide appropriate therapy to patients.

Mixed reality (MR) is a hybrid system that projects virtual elements into reality. MR technology provides immersive learning using various real-world tools. However, studies on educational programs using MR are scarce. ⋯ The percentage of correct answers to multiple choice questions increased (from a mean of 42.3, SD 12.4-54.8, SD 13) after the MR-based trauma assessment and treatment training (P < .001). Of the participants, 79.45% were satisfied with the overall experience of using the MR simulator. This study demonstrated a meaningful educational effect of the MR-based trauma training system even after a short training time.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) refers to abnormal coagulation of blood in veins, resulting in complete or incomplete occlusion of the blood vessels. Patients with liver cirrhosis are prone to blood clots. However, relationship between NDUFB2 and UQCRH and VTE is not clear. ⋯ CTD analysis showed that 5 genes (NDUFAB1, NDUFB2, UQCRH, COX7C, NDUFA4) were found to be associated with obesity, necrosis, inflammation and hepatomegaly. The result of WB showed that expression level of NDUFB2 and UQCR in venous thromboembolism was higher than that in control group. NDUFB2 and UQCRH are highly expressed in venous thromboembolism with liver cirrhosis, making them potential molecular targets for early diagnosis and precise treatment.

Patients with bipolar disorder often report self-perceived treatment resistance. However, it is not known to what extent it is due to actual treatment resistance. The Juntendo University provides "Bipolar Disorder Treatment Rebuilding Program," in which patients with self-reported treatment resistant bipolar disorder are hospitalized for 2 weeks and undergo detailed examinations. ⋯ We could not verify recovery after adequate treatment because of the limited hospitalization period. The findings suggest that most patients with self-perceived treatment-resistant bipolar disorder may not have genuine treatment-resistant bipolar disorder. These results shed light on the difficulties of public education of bipolar disorder and importance of providing appropriate services for diagnosis and treatment of bipolar disorder in the community.
