Treatment failure in patients with liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) is primarily caused by tumor progression and therapy resistance. Tumor immunity plays a crucial role in regulating the homeostasis of cells through the process of programmed cell death (PCD). However, the expression profile and clinical significance of PCD-related genes in LIHC require further investigation. ⋯ Additionally, PCDscore was correlated with immune checkpoint genes and immune cell infiltration. LIHC patients with high PCDscore exhibited sensitivity to common chemotherapy drugs (such as cisplatin and docetaxel). To summarize, our study developed a novel PCDscore model that comprehensively analyzed different cell death modes, providing an accurate prediction of clinical prognosis and drug sensitivity for LIHC patients.

Cardiac amyloidosis (CA) often mimics heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Due to very different treatment strategies, an exact diagnosis and differentiation between pure HFpEF and CA-related heart failure (HF) is important. In the present study, we assessed the recently published H
2 FPEF score in patients with pure HFpEF, transthyretin (ATTR), as well as light chain (AL) amyloidosis-related HFpEF and tested whether it differentiates between these entities. ⋯ The H2 FPEF score should be used with caution, as there is a significant overlap between HFpEF and CA-related HF. -
The objective of this study is to explore the potential mechanism of action of Total glucosides of paeony (TGP) in the treatment of autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT). The study utilized literature mining to obtain the active ingredients of TGP. Databases such as Super-PRED, similarity ensemble approach, and Swiss Target Prediction were utilized to predict the targets of the active ingredients. ⋯ The important targets of the protein protein interaction network were identified as interleukin-6, proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase, epidermal growth factor receptor, among others. The molecular docking validation results showed that Paeoniflorin, albiflorin, and benzoylpaeoniflorin and oxypaeoniflor all bind well to interleukin-6, epidermal growth factor receptor, and proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase. This study reveals the multi-component, multi-target and multi-pathway mechanism of action of TGP in regulating AIT and provides a reference for subsequent basic research.

The Influence of Social Determinants on Receiving Outpatient Treatment with Monoclonal Antibodies, Disease Risk, and Effectiveness for COVID-19.
Limited research has studied the influence of social determinants of health (SDoH) on the receipt, disease risk, and subsequent effectiveness of neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (nMAbs) for outpatient treatment of COVID-19. ⋯ Disparities existed in receiving nMAbs within SDoH subgroups despite the benefit of treatment across subgroups.
