This study compared clinical pain outcomes between patients in a pain treatment program that was conducted in-person, compared with a virtual program. ⋯ While some changes were unique to the In-Person program, overall, patients in the Virtual program achieved similar treatment outcomes, suggesting that it can successfully treat Veterans seeking pain management, with less need for in-person facilities for both patients and clinicians.

Prevention of chronic pain is a major challenge in this area of clinical practice. To do this, we must be able to understand who is most at risk of developing chronic pain after an injury. In this study, we aimed to identify risk factors of chronic pain onset, disability, and pain interference after a lower limb musculoskeletal injury in children and adolescents between 8 to 16 years of age. ⋯ Children with chronic pain reported higher pain intensity, disability, pain interference, child depression, fear of pain, and catastrophic thinking about their pain. Regressions showed child depression and fear of pain at baseline independently predicted chronic pain onset at 3 months, parent protectiveness predicted child pain interference at 3 months, and child depression, poor sleep, parent anxiety and pain catastrophising predicted disability. Most children recover after a lower limb injury, but a minority develop chronic pain predicted by important psychosocial risk factors, which could be addressed to prevent the onset of treatment-resistant chronic pain and disability.

Adolescent Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen Self-Poisoning, 2017-2022.
Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are the most common agents involved in adolescent self-poisoning. With increasing suicidality observed during the COVID-19 pandemic, we sought to compare overdose trends, severity, and outcomes for both agents. ⋯ Given the increased hospitalization and treatment resources needed for acetaminophen overdoses compared with ibuprofen, it is time to implement acetaminophen packaging policy change to protect US adolescents.

Understanding post-treatment hemodynamic alterations and their association with the patency of covered branch arteries is limited. This study aims to identify hemodynamic changes after flow diverter stenting and investigate their correlation with the patency status of covered branch arteries. ⋯ Pipeline embolization device stenting can cause a reduction in blood flow in branch arteries. Compared with patent branches, flow-impaired branches exhibit an increase in blood flow velocity after stenting. Smoking and ΔFWHM in the covered branches indicate flow impairment.
