The Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP/ACMU).
The Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians is a diverse group of 500 practitioners providing emergency care to the ill and injured. The specialty section of the organization represents Royal College certificants and is 120 strong. The Association, with headquarters in Ottawa, has a major interest in the continuing education of its members, policy development and the improvement of emergency health care in the country.

This is the twenty-first article in a continuing series of objectives to direct resident training in emergency medicine. Presented is a set of objectives with references for curriculum goals in neurology. ⋯ Many residents who have exposure to a neurology elective often spend only two weeks on the service. Therefore, a clear set of goals and objectives is essential for the resident to obtain a comprehensive knowledge of this complex specialty.

Emergency physicians desire to provide their patients with care that is of the highest quality and is cost effective. Any tool that promotes these aims is good and should be used. ⋯ ACEP has initiated a process for the development and evaluation of selected clinical policies. We anxiously await information that sheds light on the value of policies in enhancing the clinical practice of emergency medicine.
