. Infection-related glomerulonephritis (IRGN) in adults is witnessing a dramatic shift in its epidemiology and outcome. Adult IRGN studies are all retrospective in nature, and Indian studies are scarce. ⋯ . A proportion of adult IRGN patients progress to chronic kidney disease.

Evaluation of clinical performance of the anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) rapid tests were carried out mostly in chronic hepatitis C patients and in individuals at high risk of HCV infection. ⋯ The proportion of infections with low level of viremia and the risk associated with rapid assay failure remained to be carefully estimated in general population.

Chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) is still the principal long-term cause of mortality after lung transplant. Animal studies and small case series have proposed pirfenidone, a potent antifibrotic agent registered for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), for treatment of CLAD. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety profile and potential efficacy of pirfenidone in patients with CLAD. ⋯ Our CLAD patients treated with pirfenidone showed a good safety profile, similarly to that reported for IPF patients. The drug showed potential for stabilizing decline in respiratory function. Further studies are needed in order to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of this therapy.

. Tumours of the eyelid are a rare subgroup of neoplasms with varied histology and inherent differences in clinical behaviour. Surgery is the standard of care, and adjuvant radiation therapy (RT) is given in the presence of features suggesting a high risk of local recurrence. The treatment of lymph nodes in the neck is debatable. We reviewed the utility of RT for lymph nodes in the neck in patients with malignant tumours of the eyelid. ⋯ . We found a favourable outcome with early T stage, RT dose of ≥60 Gy and lymph node dissection. High-risk histopathological features including close margins and positive lymph nodes merit adjuvant RT including regional lymph nodes.
