Prognosis and assessment of the predictive value of severity scores in paediatric abdominal trauma: A French national cohort study.
Paediatric closed abdominal trauma is common, however, its severity and influence on survival are difficult to determine. No prognostic score integrating abdominal involvement exists to date in paediatrics. ⋯ PEVALPED is the first French study to evaluate the prognosis of paediatric closed abdominal trauma. The use of PTS, rSIG and BIG scores are relevant from the acute phase and the pathophysiological interest and accuracy of the BIG score make it a powerful tool for predicting mortality of closed abdominal trauma in children.

Development and validation of a novel sleep health score in the sleep heart health study.
There is a lack of consensus in evaluating multidimensional sleep health, especially concerning its implication for mortality. A validated multidimensional sleep health score is the foundation of effective interventions. ⋯ This study constructed and validated a novel multidimensional sleep health score to better predict death based on sleep, with significant associations between sleep composite score and all-cause mortality. Integrating questionnaire information and sleep microstructures, our sleep composite score is more appropriately applied for mortality risk stratification.

Background: One of the mechanisms responsible for the high mortality rate of acute myocardial infarction is myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MI-RI). The present study focused on the role and regulatory mechanisms of specificity protein 1 (SP1) and ubiquitin-specific protease 46 (USP46) in oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R)-induced cardiomyocyte injury. Methods: OGD/R was used to treat cardiomyocytes AC16 to mimic ischemia-reperfusion in vitro. ⋯ SP1 could enhance the transcription of USP46, and USP46 overexpression reversed SP1 silencing-mediated effects on OGD/R-induced cardiomyocytes. SP1 mediated the AMPK signaling via USP46. Conclusion: SP1 mediated OGD/R-induced cardiomyocyte inflammation, OxS injury, apoptosis, and ferroptosis by inactivating the AMPK signaling via enhancing the transcription of USP46.

Intracranial pressure monitoring in patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage: a systematic review with meta-analysis.
To describe the potential effects of Intracranial pressure monitoring on the outcome of patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). ⋯ Elevated ICP is associated with increased mortality and poor prognosis in ICH patients. Although continuous intracranial pressure monitoring may reduce short-term mortality rates in specific subgroups of ICH patients, it does not improve neurological functional outcomes. While potential patient populations may benefit from ICP monitoring, more research is needed to screen suitable populations for ICP monitoring.
