X-linked recessive chronic granulomatous disease (XR-CGD) is a severe primary immunodeficiency principally caused by a CYBB (OMIM: 300481) gene variant. Recurrent fatal bacterial or fungal infections are the main clinical manifestations of XR-CGD. ⋯ PGT-M is an effective method for helping families with these fatal and rare inherited diseases to have healthy offspring. It can availably block the transmission of disease-causing loci to descendant.

Ovarian cancer presents a significant health challenge in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), where late-stage diagnosis contributes to high mortality rates. This diagnostic gap arises from limited resources, poor healthcare infrastructure, and a lack of awareness about the disease. However, a potential game-changer is emerging in the form of liquid biopsy (LB), a minimally invasive diagnostic method. ⋯ This paper provides recommendations for future directions, emphasizing the need for research, infrastructure development, stakeholder engagement, and international collaboration. By recognizing the transformative potential of LB and addressing the diagnostic gap, we can pave the way for early detection, improved treatment, and better outcomes for ovarian cancer patients in SSA. This paper sheds light on a path toward better healthcare access and equity in the region.

COVID-19 lockdown can lead to job adaptation disorders, which are heterogeneous among individuals. The purpose of this study was to explore the association between perceived social support and job adaptation disorders among workers in China during the COVID-19 pandemic. The questionnaires of Psychological Questionnaire for Public Health Emergencies, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Work Attitude Scale were used for this cross-section study via an online survey. ⋯ Social support mediated the relationship between depression, neurasthenia, obsessive-compulsive anxiety and job adaptation disorder, accounting for 18.1%, 16.1%, and 17.5% of the total effect (ab/c), respectively. Perceived social support could alleviate COVID-19 pandemic-related depression, neurasthenia, compulsion-anxiety, and job adaptation disorder in Chinese workers. Improving their perception of social support, workers may better adapt themselves to work in the challenging of the public health emergency during COVID-19 pandemic.

To evaluate the feasibility of temporomandibular disorder (TMD) diagnosis with panoramic radiography, and provide standardized data for artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis by measuring the differences in the condylar and mandibular ramus heights. A total of 500 panoramic radiographs (219 male and 281 female participants) of healthy individuals were examined. The panoramic machine compatible measurement software, SCANORA 5.2.6, was used to measure the bilateral condylar height and mandibular ramus height, and SPSS 27.0 was used to calculate the left- and right-side differences in condylar height and mandibular ramus height of healthy individuals. ⋯ In addition, the height of the mandibular ramus varied. By considering the left-right lateral height differences identified in this study along with clinical examination, it is possible to employ this metric as a preliminary screening tool for patients with TMD. Further, the use of panoramic radiographs for initial TMD screening is both viable and significant.

Interleukin (IL)-31/IL-33 axis has been proved to play an important role in the regulation of inflammation, and serum IL-33 was found to be a novel serum prognostic marker of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), while the value of serum IL-31 levels on prognosis in patients with ICH remains unknown. The present study was designed to study the value of serum IL-31 levels on prognosis in ICH patients. A total of 200 ICH patients and 50 healthy people were included in this study. ⋯ The receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the sensitivity and specificity of serum IL-31 level in evaluating the prognosis of ICH were 85.2% and 76.7%, respectively. A cutoff value of serum IL-31 level > 185.30 pg/mL may indicate a poor prognosis for ICH. Serum IL-31 levels on admission in ICH patients are associated with patient prognosis, and higher serum IL-31 levels are associated with a higher risk of poor prognosis in ICH patients.
