AbstractPathology of the pancreas in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is more common than in the general population and includes a wide range of manifestations from asymptomatic to severe disorders. Acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, autoimmune pancreatitis, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, increased pancreatic enzymes and structural duct anomalies are often associated with IBD. They can be either a manifestation of IBD itself or develop independently.
