AbstractValues clarification as a teaching method is a very new concept in nursing education. Since values underlie all ethical decision making, it is not possible to divorce ourselves from looking at our value orientation, as well as at the value orientation of those with whom we work, of our families and of society, as we confront different issues. The values clarification model generally used for values clarification is: Choosing/Prizing/Acting. Values clarification has to be a rational process. In this article a number of exercises are explained which can be used in nursing education to help the nursing student to clarify some of her values.
