AbstractUnlike neurologic toxicity, myocardial infarction appears to be an idiosyncratic response to the drug, unrelated to dose, duration of use, or route of administration. There is no marker to identify the person who may have life-threatening cardiac effects after taking cocaine, but those who experienced myocardial ischemia once are at risk of recurrence if they use the drug again.
