AbstractDifferent strategies using creatine kinase-MB(mass), myoglobin, and troponin T were compared in 738 patients admitted because of chest pain and an electrocardiogram not diagnostic of acute myocardial infarction. We conclude that a combination of creatine kinase-MB and troponin T during the first 6 hours enables early detection or exclusion of acute myocardial infarction in this population.
