AbstractEvidence suggests a significant relationship between healthcare staff wellbeing and patient safety, with burnout directly and indirectly affecting medicolegal risk. Poor wellbeing of doctors has major implications for patient outcomes and the overall performance of healthcare organisations. This editorial looks at the predisposing factors that can lead to burnout and the potential solutions.
