AbstractWe aimed to describe the glycaemic trajectory and define characteristics associated with suboptimal glycaemic control in the type 2 diabetes clinic. Higher glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c) at 1 year was associated with higher baseline HbA1c, concurrent anti-depressant or antipsychotic medication, higher bodyweight and low treatment adherence. These characteristics may help identify patients unlikely to attain HbA1c treatment targets and be better served by a different model of care.© 2020 Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
