AbstractExtracolonic manifestations of Clostridium difficile infections have rarely been reported as a reactive arthritis. We report a 43-year-old woman who presented with a polyarthritis following pseudomembranous colitis. She was admitted for fever and polyarthritis, 10 days after the onset of a C. difficile enterocolitis. Samples obtained from urine and blood cultures remained sterile. Corticosteroids were prescribed and clinical manifestations resolved within 3 weeks. Ten months later, there was no relapse and no sequela.2009 Société nationale française de médecine interne (SNFMI). Published by Elsevier SAS. All rights reserved.
