AbstractThe case of a "smoking disaccustomer" and "psycholigist" is reported who carried out his profitable job at various places. Aided by his lawyer, he successfully resisted all attempts by the authorities to acquire registration as a lay healer. In this way, he skillfully took advantage of the existing loopholes of legislation and even went as far as threaten the authorities. Finally, his dealings were brought to an end by the district court of Kassel on March 21, 1978, which ruled that the "Heilpraktiker" law ought to protect the people against mistreatment and exploitation. Thus criteria of the German "Reichsversicherungsordnung" are not applicable in this case.
