AbstractThis article describes the evolution of vocational rehabilitation and the development of the rehabilitation counselor's role as the generally accepted expert in forensic vocational rehabilitation assessment. The vocational rehabilitation process is discussed within an empirically derived structural model of forensic vocational assessment. The concept of work-life expectancy is discussed as a key feature in estimating the duration of time vocational damages are likely to occur based on a person's remaining work participation.
