AbstractThis article shares a recent Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority collaborative effort among nine hospitals in the northeastern part of the state whose mission was to decrease the potential for mislabeling events. This collaborative was a journey down "a road less traveled." Not many credible resources were out there to draw upon. But, those involved in this collaborative were persistent in their efforts. Through hard work and creativity they were able to identify and address areas for change and ultimately show a successful outcome.© 2011 American Society for Healthcare Risk Management of the American Hospital Association.
