AbstractIn the setting of end-stage osteoarthritis of the knee, total knee arthroplasty is the gold-standard treatment. Recently, a minimally invasive, joint preserving treatment option in the treatment of medial osteoarthritis of the knee has been developed. It is called the KineSpring(®) (Moximed(®) International GmbH, Zurich, Switzerland). The goal of this novel device is to reduce medial compartment loading without significantly affecting the loading of the lateral compartment. In this context, the current authors present a case of device failure using these new implants, which at 7 months post-op necessitated revision surgery with complete removal of the device.
