AbstractPaget Schroetter Syndrome (PSS) or "effort thrombosis" is a rare form of primary upper extremity deep vein thrombosis often seen in individuals with anatomic variants involving the thoracic outlet and exacerbated by repetitive microtrauma to the subclavian vein. Diagnosis can be made with ultrasound and confirmed with MR venography or conventional venography. We report a case of PSS in a young male athlete who was treated with pharmacologic and mechanical thrombolysis.
