AbstractMost states in the United States have legalized medical and/or recreational cannabis in response to public demand. Trends in states adopting such legislation demonstrate an increasing prevalence of cannabis use coincident to decreasing perceptions of risk of harm from cannabis products. When providing anticipatory guidance, pediatricians should be prepared to address childhood unintentional ingestion management and prevention, adolescent problem use, and cannabis as an alternative therapy for seizure disorders and other conditions.© American Academy of Pediatrics, 2020.
