AbstractIn a series of articles the authors discuss literature data concerning epidemiology of pulmonary hypertension, modern classification; peculiarities of its pathogenesis and treatment in various diseases and conditions. In the second part they consider peculiarities of pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular failure in patients with predominant involvement of left cardiac chambers. Effects of various classes of drugs used in the treatment of left ventricular heart failure including their influence on pulmonary circulation and functional state of the right ventricle are also discussed.
