AbstractA review of nine cases of plunging ranula reveals a prominent vascular stroma that can, in recurrent lesions, lead to the misdiagnosis of "hemangioma". In addition, this study adds to the world's literature further evidence in support of initial excision of the sublingual gland as a cause of the plunging ranula.
