    AbstractWhen working with LGBTQ+ patients who want to build families, primary care providers play a key role in increasing access to reproductive health care. There is growing demand for assisted reproductive services among LGBTQ+ individuals who do not already have their own children or do not wish to adopt. Fertility-preservation options are available for transgender patients; however, many of these treatments are inaccessible to patients because of lack of insurance coverage and high cost. Legal options for LGBTQ+ patients' reproduction vary by state. Knowledge of the laws and regulations in your own state of practice is necessary to manage expectations.Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Inc.
