    AbstractThis article provides a broad understanding of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) epidemic and how to provide appropriate care as a primary care provider. One important aspect to this is in understanding the effect that HIV has in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer+ community.
