    AbstractOfloxacin has been used for prevention and treatment of burn infection in 40 burnt subjects. Clinical response and microbiological efficacy reached 82.5 and 83%, respectively. The highest efficacy was observed in patients with burnt body surface area not more than 25%. The drug is recommended as a prophylactic modality in acute burn toxemia.
