AbstractA confirmatory factor analysis was performed to evaluate the factorial validity of the Beck Depression Inventory-Second Edition (BDI-II) in a large sample of undergraduates (N = 576). Results suggest that the revised measure is internally consistent and consists of two underlying factors assessing cognitive-affective and somatic symptoms of depression. Results support the use of the BDI-II as a severity measure of symptoms of depression.
