AbstractA case of repeated tonic-chlonic seizures and opisthotonus which developed after anesthesia with propofol (Deprivan) in a woman aged 43 years is described. The seizures continued for seven days despite antiepileptic therapy. On the basis of this case and other case reports, it is recommended that propofol should only be employed with reservation in patients with known epilepsy or predisposition to epilepsy.
