AbstractNecrotizing pancreatitis is the most severe form of acute pancreatitis associated with high morbidity and mortality. Percutaneous CT-guided catheter drainage is an important treatment option that can be effective whether used alone, or as an adjunct to operation. Existing literature describing the role of percutaneous catheter drainage of necrotizing pancreatitis is limited. This update reviews techniques, indications, outcomes, and complications of CT-guided percutaneous treatment of acute necrotizing pancreatitis.
