AbstractA 60 year old woman presented with massive aortic root dilation and sudden cardiovascular collapse 10 years after aortic valve replacement. An aortic to right atrial fistula was diagnosed by echocardiographic imaging and Doppler ultrasound. At operation, the patient was found to have chronic aortic dissection with aneurysm formation. Rupture of the aneurysm into the right atrium was confirmed.
