AbstractIn malignant pathological fractures, surgery is an essential part of the whole oncologic conception. In most cases it is combined with adjuvant therapies. Various surgical procedures are available for the different sites depending on the fact whether the operation is performed in a curative or palliative intent. Even in case of palliative indication with only a limited life expectancy, the indication for surgery is adopted more and more generously. A very important point is the wish of the patient. With our low complication rates, we have been able to facilitate the hard fates of many patients even if they had only short survival times.
