AbstractPatient-ventilator synchrony is important in the management of the ventilator-dependent patient. Factors inherent to the patient and the ventilator influence patient-ventilator synchrony. Detection of patient-ventilator synchrony may require monitoring of airway pressure and flow waveforms.
