AbstractEnvironmental pollution caused by radioactive and non-radioactive chemicals, and the immunity of schoolchildren who reside in the area exposed to the Totsk nuclear explosion (1954) are comparatively analyzed. The results indicate that the area under study has higher levels of 137Cs than that of a control area. There were immunological changes in children, which are obviously associated with the nuclear explosion.
